The 27th Southeast Asian Games (2013 SEA Games) opening ceremony will be held at the Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar on Wednesday, December 11. The games, meanwhile will also be held in three satellite venues—Yangon, Mandalay and the coastal town of Ngwe Saung.
The 27th SEA Games marks the first time that Myanmar (formerly Burma) will host the biennial games since 1969 and the world is in for a four-hour spectacle of cultural shows, songs, fireworks and dances at the opening show in the country's new capital.
The Philippine contingent will be led by led by chef de mission Jeff Tamayo, along with his deputy, Monsour del Rosario while wo-time SEA Games wrestling champion Jason Balabal will be having the honor of carrying the Philippine flag during the parade of athletes.
