Posted on June 3, 2013 | 2:56 PM

The biggest and the grandest reality singing search on Philippine television, The Voice of the Philippines will premiere on June 15 (Saturday).

The pilot episode will feature the most exciting part of the competition which is the "Blind Auditions". In this phase of the competition, the coaches will screen the "invited contestants" (those who passed the different levels of auditions prior to the blind auditions) with their backs turned to them.

If the coaches like the contestant's voice and wanted that artist to be part of his/her team, then they will push their button to turn their chairs around and face the contestant. In the event that two or more coaches choose a particular contestant, they will have to convince the auditionee to pick them.

After the teams were formed, the coaches will mentor the contestants and pit two of their members in a 'sing-off' during the "Battle Rounds" to determine who will advance to the "Live Shows," the final phase of the competition.

The Voice of the Philippines is hosted by Toni Gonzaga with Robi Domingo and Alex Gonzaga as social media correspondents (aka V Reporters). It will also feature four superstar coaches namely Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo Mañalac, Lea Salonga, and Apl.de.Ap.

Don't miss The Voice of the Philippines Primer, Mic Test this Sunday, June 9 after Rated K and the show's premiere on June 15 (Saturday) after MMK.

'The Voice of the Philippines' Airs June 2013; Coaches Now Ready for Blind Auditions

Posted on April 13, 2013 | 10:08 AM

It’s the voice, not the looks or backstories, that will determine the next singing superstar in the highly anticipated singing competition “The Voice of the Philippines” airing this June on ABS-CBN with top caliber singers who have made their mark in the local and international music scenes as coaches who will mentor the aspiring singers or artists.

The Voice of the Philippines Coaches: Lea Salonga, Bamboo, Sarah Geronimo and Apl.de.ap

“The Voice of the Philippines,” to be hosted by multimedia star Toni Gonzaga with Robi Domingo as social media correspondent, proved to be a unique format with its “blind auditions,” where hopefuls will audition by singing on stage with the coaches facing against them.

It will not only have the artists competing in the show, but also the coaches who will go against one another in picking the best artists for their teams as early as the auditions round.

ABS-CBN has announced that Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo, Rock Superstar Bamboo, Broadway Diva Lea Salonga, and international hiphop sensation Apl De Ap will sit on the coaches’ chairs of “The Voice of the Philippines.”

The coaches’ first task is to pick who among artists they want to be part of their respective teams. The selection process begins during the blind auditions where they will evaluate the artists’ performances based on the voices they hear and if they would like to mentor a particular artist, they must press the button that will trigger their swiveling coaches’ chair to turn to the stage and get to see the artist in person.

In the event that more than two or more coaches chose a particular artist, the coaches will have to sell themselves to the artist and convince him or her to pick them as coach.

After choosing members of their teams, the coaches will start to mentor and train their artists.  They will pit two of their own team members in the second round called the “battle rounds,” or a do or die match between the two artists who must give it their all to please their coach.  And in the end, the coaches’ chosen artists will advance to the next round of the competition— the live performance shows.

Viewers will then step in the scene and can save their favorites from elimination by voting. In the end, each coach will have one star artist left to compete against the other team’s finalists and the last one standing will be named “The Voice of the Philippines.”

ABS-CBN bagged the exclusive rights to air and adapt the worldwide hit franchise from Dutch-based Talpa Media Group and joins 40 other countries around the world that localized it on TV, including the more popular US version of “The Voice” hosted by Carson Daly with Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, and Blake Shelton as coaches.

Who will be part of Team Sarah, Team Bamboo, Team Lea, and Team Apl? Watch out for “The Voice of the Philippines” airing this June on ABS-CBN. For updates, log on to www.thevoice.abs-cbn.com, like our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/thevoiceabscbn , orfollow @thevoiceabscbn on Twitter.

It's probably going to be other Fillipino artists - definitely Arnel Pineda the lead singer of Journey, Cherise [Charice] and Bruno Mars. It will be funny if Will [i.Am] does it with me, right? He won't understand a bunch of the songs," Apl told Huffington Post UK.

Apl.de.Ap's bestfriend, Will.i.Am is also one of the coaches in The Voice UK.

After conquering the world with her topnotch musical talent and artistry, Broadway diva Lea Salonga soon returns to Philippine TV as one of the coaches in the highly-anticipated singing competition The Voice of the Philippines.

Lea Salonga joins Sarah geronimo and bamboo as The Voice of the Philippines Judges-Coaches

“What you’ll get from me as a coach is honesty besides a Tony award and 35 years of experience,” Lea shared in a TV plug aired by ABS-CBN on Wednesday (Feb 20).

“In the blind auditions, we would only use our ears and listen to the contestants. I want in my team singers who are pitch perfect. I don’t want them singing off key. I cannot teach being in tune to somebody—either you are or you are not. If you’re not, I’ll just say goodbye to you… I believe that there are lots of talented people out there,” Lea added.

Toni Gonzaga Hosts The Voice Philippines; Robi Domingo, Social Media Correspondent

Posted on February 9, 2013 | 8:04 AM

Ultimate Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga is officially the host of The Voice of the Philippines, the country’s edition of the worldwide hit singing competition The Voice. Meanwhile, PBB alumnus Robi Domingo will be the backstage correspondent of the show, hosting the social media part of the program covering Facebook and Twitter.

Toni Gonzaga Hosts The Voice Philippines

Toni will be the Pinoy counterpart of Carson Daly who hosts the more popularly known US edition of The Voice with Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, and Blake Shelton as celebrity coaches while Robi will be the counterpart of Christina Milian.

The Voice is a unique singing competition where auditions are based solely on vocal ability. In the first stage called the “blind auditions,” all four coaches must listen to the artist without facing him or her and must press their respective buttons if they want the artist to be part of the team they will mentor. Hitting the button will also trigger the coach’s chairs to swivel so that the coach can finally see the face behind the voice.

The coaches get to choose the contestants to form their respective teams.  They will then dedicate themselves to develop their singers via mentoring and will pit two of their own team members in the second round called the “battle rounds.”

After the vocal face-off, the coach must then choose who among the singers will advance. Those who will survive in the battle rounds will proceed to the third stage— the live performance shows— wherein viewers can save them from elimination by voting.

In the end, each coach will have one star artist left to compete against the other team’s finalists and the last one standing will be named “The Voice of the Philippines.”

Unlike other ABS-CBN-produced talent shows such as Pilipinas Got Talent and The X Factor Philippines, contestants of “The Voice of the Philippines” can make it through the different rounds mostly because of their vocal ability.

Let the voice of the Philippines be heard! For audition details like the show’s official Facebook page at www.facebook.com/TheVoiceABSCBN or follow @TheVoiceABSCBN on Twitter.

Posted on January 20, 2013 | 11:52 AM

Multimedia star Toni Gonzaga and PBB Teens alumnus Robi Domingo will be hosting the The Voice Philippines, ABS-CBN's newest reality singing competition which will soon hit Philippine television.

Toni Gonzaga and Robi Domingo, Hosts of 'The Voice Philippines'

The pre-screenings and radio auditions have already started for The Voice PH and according to reports, the show will be airing in June after Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4 finale. Although the coaches/judges for the show are not yet finalized, Robi and Toni hosting the show is now a go amid all the rumors and speculations. In fact, the two had already their pictorial and teaser shoot.

Toni Gonzaga and Robi Domingo are perfect choices to host  the Philippine version of The Voice. Having worked together in two PBB editions as hosts, there's no need to work out the chemistry between the two.

Toni Gonzaga is one of the most effective hosts in the country and has proven her brilliance in hosting whether it's a reality show (Pinoy Big Brother, Pinoy Dream Academy), a showbiz-oriented talk show (E-Live, The Buzz) or a variety show (Eat Bulaga, MRS, ASAP, Happy Yipee Yehey!).

Robi Domingo, on the other hand, is one who will definitely follow the footsteps of Luis Manzano when it comes to hosting being trained in two PBB editions (Unlimited and Teen Edition 4), MYX as one of its former VJs, ASAP chill-out and Sarah G Live. Robi is also one of the hosts of I Dare You (Season 2).

Are you excited for The Voice Philippines? Who do you think will be the four judges/coaches?
