KC Concepcion and Cristine Reyes Renew Contract with ABS-CBN

Two of today’s hottest stars, KC Concepcion and Cristine Reyes, choose to remain Kapamilya as they renewed their respective contracts with ABS-CBN. The network also welcomes Meg Imperial (read related article here).

KC makes a big comeback in acting as she will appear with Judy Ann Santos and Sam Milby in the anticipated drama “Against All Odds” after her first teleserye “Lovers in Paris” in 2009. She will also have hosting projects for the network.

For her part, Cristine said she does not regret joining ABS-CBN. After appearing in “Dahil Sa Pag-Ibig,” Cristine will join Dawn Zulueta, Gerald Anderson, Dina Bonnevie, and Diana Zubiri in “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin” airing very soon.

Meanwhile, 20-year old Meg made a buzz recently after her controversial cover last December in a well-known men’s magazine and her daring role in a movie produced by Viva Films, “Menor De Edad” last January.

Meg already appeared in ABS-CBN’s top-rating program “Maalaala mo Kaya” with Ketchup Eusebio. The young actress is overwhelmed as she joins her new home.

Present during the signing were ABS-CBN president and CEO Charo Santos-Concio, broadcast head Cory Vidanes, TV production head Laurenti Dyogi, and Viva entertainment head Veronique del Rosario.

KC Concepcion on French Suitor: 'Ito 'yung masasabi kong tunay... na gentleman'

KC Concepcion was all praises about her French suitor Pierre Emmanuel Plassart. In her The Buzz interview aired on Sunday, November 25, KC shared how she prayed for the right man and how God answered.

Months after her controversial break up with hunk actor Piolo Pascual, KC revealed that she really prayed hard for a straight week and posted what she wanted for a man.

"Ang sabi po kasi nila, when you want to ask God for something, you pray about it and you be specific and you believe with all your heart as if binigay na Niya ‘yon sa iyo. I really wrote down in Post-it notes ang lahat ng gusto ko sa isang lalaki," KC told host Boy Abunda.

"Binigay talaga ni God sa akin lahat ng pinost ko …until the very last detail," she said.

When asked to talk about his French suitor Pierre Plassart, KC said: 

"Pierre is a very kind person na—ito ‘yung, Tito Boy, marami tayong nakikilalang mga lalaking inaral ang pagiging gentleman and that’s a great thing. Pero ito talaga, Tito Boy, simula nung baby talaga hanggang lumaki, hanggang ngayon na na-meet ko na siya, ito ‘yung masasabi kong tunay… it’s the real thing talaga. He’s a true gentleman."

"My heart is at peace knowing that merong mga mabubuting lalaki talaga," added KC who pinpointed Pierre's "never say die" attitude as his best quality.

Coco Martin and Anne Curtis Bag 'Billboard Star Model' Award; Jericho Rosales Joins 'Against All Odds' Cast

Kapamilya stars Anne Curtis and Coco Martin were recognized by the Tanaw award-giving body of the Outdoor Advertising Association of the Philippines (OAAP) on Friday, November 16 for their ubiquitous presence throughout the metro via outdoors advertising.

Anne Curtis, who personally received the award won the People's Choice Female Billboard Star Model of the Year 2012 while Coco Martin, who was not able to attend the event due to a commitment overseas won the male counterpart, People's Choice Male Billboard Star Model of the Year 2012.

The X Factor Philippines Hopefuls Enter Boot Camp Week (July 21)

Out of thousands of hopefuls from across the country, only 172 auditionees will advance to the next round and enter the Boot Camp this Saturday (July 21) as the competition continues in the top-rating and biggest musical event of the year, “The X Factor Philippines.” 

Inside the Boot Camp, contestants will undergo various trainings to prep up for another make-or-break performance before judge-mentors Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, Charice, and Pilita Corrales. 

From 172 contestants, the judge-mentors will have to make the cut and trim them down to only 20 contestants— five per category namely Girls (solo female performers 16-25 yrs old), Boys (solo male performers 16-25 yrs old), Adults (solo performers 26 yrs old and above), and Groups.

KC Concepcion Out of 'Nothing Compares To You' Movie with Anne and Derek

Actress-host KC Concepcion confirmed via her official Twitter account that she will not be doing the movie Nothing Compares To You under Viva Films. The said movie is supposed to put KC Concepcion in a triangle with Anne Curtis and Derek Ramsay.

KC said that she opt not to do the movie to focus on her new teleserye Against All Odds with Judy Ann Santos and Sam Milby and hosting The X Factor Philippines and ASAP 2012.

In a series of tweets, KC clarified why she chose not to do the Viva movie for now. She also said she had the blessing of  Viva boss, Vic Del Rosario to concentrate on the teleserye  first.

Nothing Compares To You filming has just started and there are questions now on who will replace KC in the movie. Rumors surfaced that Andi Eigenmann will be doing KC's role. If this is true, Andi will got to work with her mom and dad in the movie since aside from Anne Curtis and Derek Ramsay, Nothing Compares To You  also stars Jaclyn Jose and Mark Gil.

Anne curtis Starts Shooting Movie with Derek Ramsay and KC Concepcion

Anne Curtis has started shooting for her upcoming movie with Derek Ramsay and KC Concepcion titled Nothing Compares To You under Viva Films.

Anne said in an interview with ABS-CBN news that she prepared a lot for the film because she wanted to create a distinction between her character in this film and her blockbuster movie No Other Woman which also starred Derek.

Anne also revealed that Nothing Compares is a movie that a woman of her age can relate to unlike in No Other Woman which something a married woman can comprehend better.

"Parang frenemies ang concept, very very light and charming. Maganda 'yung storya kasi for me if No Other Woman was something married women can relate to, this is something women our age can relate to.”

Aside from Derek and KC. Anne Curtis will also be working with Jaclyn Jose, who will be playing Anne's mother in the movie. Jaclyn Jose had already worked with Anne in several projects like the series Dyosa.

Jaclyn Jose revealed a little about her upcoming role.

“Mommy ako ni Anne, para silang magkaibigan. Ang conflict sa akin, asawa ko si Mark Gil, mayroon siyang ibang pamilya. Hindi ko pa alam kung paano ie-execute pero simple lang iyon.”

"The X Factor Philippines' Pilot Wins in TV Ratings, Trends on Twitter Worldwide

Most Filipinos joined celebrity judge-mentors Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, Charice, and Pilita Corrales last Saturday (June 23) in spotting the ‘x factor’ among Pinoy singers in the pilot episode of the biggest musical event “The X Factor Philippines.” 

The show, hosted by KC Concepcion, hit a national TV rating of 25.1% beating its rival “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho” with only 15.6%, based on Kantar Media’s data that covers urban and rural areas across the country. Kantar Media also reported that “The X Factor Philippines” won the ratings game last Sunday (June 24) scoring a national TV rating of 20.3% vs GMA’s “Pare & Pare” (10%) and TV5’s coverage of the 2012 Miss World-Philippines pageant (3.8%). 

When it comes to the online world, “The X Factor Philippines” was the talk of the town and was among the top trending topics in famous microblogging site Twitter, including judge-mentor Charice who earned various reactions from netizens worldwide for her emotional moments in the show. The X Factor Philippines Reveals the Road to P4 Million Grand Prize

The country’s biggest and grandest musical event of the year kicks off this Saturday (June 23) as ABS-CBN premieres the much-awaited Philippine adaptation of the worldwide phenomenal hit ‘X Factor’ franchise, “The X Factor Philippines,” with KC Concepcion as host and Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, Charice Pempengco, and Pilita Corrales as celebrity judge-mentors.

“The X Factor Philippines” is searching for undiscovered talent 16 years old and above that will be divided into four categories: Girls, Boys, Adults and Groups. They should be willing to brave the panel for a chance to win the biggest prize in a Philippine singing competition, a whopping P4 million worth of prizes, and become the next Pinoy multimedia star.

After months of auditions in 70 cities across the country, more than 20,000 hopefuls flocked to the audition venues in hopes of fulfilling their dreams. But it wasn’t an easy ride for each and every one of them as they underwent a tedious screening process.

In the Boot Camp, selected contestants will go through a series of performances that will further test their ‘x factor.’ This will enable the judge-mentors to select and trim them down to 20 contestants divided in four categories— five solo male contestants aged 16-25 or the “Boys,” five solo female contestants aged 16-25 or “Girls,” five solo contestants over 25 years old or the “Adults,” and five group contestants aged 16 and above or the “Groups.”

Before advancing to the Judges’ Homes stage, “The X Factor Philippines” producers will then reveal which category judge-mentors Martin, Gary, Charice, and Pilita will be mentoring. The judge-mentors then take the contestants to their respective “Judge’s Home” where they will select the best performers to take to the live show.

Only three contestants from each category will complete the final 12 contestants who will proceed in the last and final stage of the competition. At this point, the finalists must face the fifth and final judge who has the sole power to turn their dream of becoming a star into reality— the viewers.

Who will become the first grand winner of “The X Factor Philippines” and win about P4 million in prizes? Will the winner come from the Boys, Girls, Adults, or Groups? Who among the mentors will coach the country’s next singing superstar?

Watch out for jaw-dropping performances from auditionees and unexpected tensions among the celebrity judge-mentors. More surprises are also coming your way in weeks to come.

First introduced in the UK, “The X Factor” has conquered more than 30 countries as of mid-2011 and produced more than 50 winners around the world. Its UK format gave birth to multi-platinum album selling artists Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke and the newest group hitting the charts, One Direction. To date, it is considered to be UK’s biggest talent search.

Meanwhile, in the US, the second season of “The X Factor USA” will soon hit TV screen with Britney Spears and Demi Lovato joining the judges table. Together with Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid, they are about to search the successor to first “The X Factor USA” grand winner, Melanie Amaro.

The X Factor Philippines Premieres June 23, Cheesa Laureta in Manila for the Franchise
